Role Overview

The Finance Director will be responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and insightful financial reporting and analysis. This role involves supporting strategic decision-making, improving financial processes, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment and have strong analytical, commercial, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and financial reports for internal stakeholders.
    • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
    • Provide financial insights to support strategic business decisions and client advisory projects.
    • Conduct profitability analysis by project, department, or client to inform resource allocation.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
    • Partner with consultants and project teams to track project costs, margins, and KPIs.
    • Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and scenario analysis.
    • Assist in the preparation of board reports and investor presentations.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve financial reporting, and enhance systems.
    • Support audit processes and liaise with external auditors as required.
    • Oversight of UK, French & Spanish financial reporting.
    • Developing board and management financial reporting packs and presentations.
    • Managing a team of two Finance Managers based in the UK and France

Qualifications & Experience

    • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
    • Proven experience in management accounting, ideally within a consulting, professional services, or project-based business.
    • Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial analysis skills.
    • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with ERP/accounting systems is an advantage.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
    • Commercially minded, with the ability to link financial performance to business drivers.
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
    • Knowledge of French and Spanish finance and tax processes
    • Knowledge of FRS102
